About Us

Besides and beyond our many and varied community service projects both in Hong Kong and internationally, highlights of our Club include the endorsement of a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar for overseas study, formation of sister clubs throughout Asia, sponsorship of a Rotaract Club and fielding a District Governor. Most members are also Paul Harris Fellows, a distinguished society for donors and benefactors of the Rotary Foundation.

Always abiding by the Rotarian principles of “Service Above Self” and “He who Serves Most Serves Best”, we strive to make membership at our Club an earned but truly pleasurable privilege.

Rotary Club of The Peak was founded in 1993 by a group of like-minded individuals.

What began as a lunch club with a weekly social get-together quickly developed into what it is today.

We are a service organisation pillared by the following 4-way test:

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Mason Wu

President 2022-23

Rotary Club of The Peak

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

When Paul Harris established the first rotary club in 1905, his aim was to create fellowship and friendship amongst professionals and businessmen.

It was with the same guiding principles that I set up the Rotary Club of The Peak with my fellow founding members about two decades ago in 1993. I did not realize at the time how special this Club would become. We have within the Club many of the leading professionals and businessmen in Hong Kong whom have in their own right made substantial contributions to Hong Kong society.

However what makes this Club special is not just the quality of our members but how like minded each and every person is.

We are by no means the largest rotary club in Hong Kong but I believe we are one of the few clubs that truly follow the spirit of Paul Harris’ original vision. There are no politics or cliques that exist in our Club. We are careful in choosing new members that value fellowship over self interest. Each person that comes to the Club becomes a member of a unique family and brotherhood that will last a lifetime.

I am very proud of the Club’s achievements all these years, including very valuable relationships with tremendous charitable organizations including Heep Hong Society, Harmony House and the Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre. We were also recognized as the highest contributor per member in all the rotary clubs globally.

Maintaining such a special club is not an easy task and I have many people to thank for this, especially all past presidents for their dedication and tireless efforts, and members of the Club and their family for their support in making our Club what it is today. I would also like to thank Andrew Ma for his significant contributions as a District Governor Representative without which our Club would not have been able to thrive today. A special thanks goes out to our Secretary Irene Leung, who has devoted herself and wisdom to the running of the Club for so many years.

I am confident that the Club is in very good hands and I look forward to many good and successful years of the Club to come.

Yours in Rotary,

Ching Nam Ma
